Fertility Treatment Options

We offer a variety of specific fertility treatment packages to fit every couple’s needs. You can learn more about each option below by clicking on it’s title, or you may contact us to setup an intital consultation at no charge.

Pre-Pregnancy Information and Advice
We provide a free consultation with a fertility nurse specialist who can discuss with you ways of preparing both you and your partner, so that you have a greater chance of achieving a healthy pregnancy. When you are both in a healthy state when you conceive, you have a greater chance of having a healthy baby.
Ultrasound Scanning
Our clinic offers ultrasound scanning on site where your treatment cycle can be closely monitored, allowing for more precise timing.
Fertility Investigation Packages
Many couples who are thinking about having a baby or have been trying to conceive for some months would like to know quickly if there is a problem that could prevent or be preventing pregnancy from occurring. Some couples may just like to be reassured that it is only a matter of time. The Fertility Investigation Package is designed to investigate both partners for the most common causes of infertility that couples face.
Male Infertility Treatment
One in 6 couples will need assistance to have a baby. Of these couples approximately 40% will be due to a male issue such as low sperm counts, compromised sperm movement and compromised sperm shape or a combination of all three. If the sperm cannot successfully get to the egg and fertilise it then a pregnancy will not occur.
Egg Donor Program
Many couples need egg donation to be able to commence or extend their families. Being an egg donor can be very rewarding not just for the donor, but for her family, as well. If you are under the age of 37 and think you could be interested, please call us today on 1300 FERTILITY.
Counseling Services
Fertility treatment can be very demanding not only physically but also psychologically. We have a team of highly specialised counsellors and psyhcologists who are available to support you through your fertility journey.
In Vitro Fertilisation and Embryo Transfer
For many couples, IVF and embryo transfer is the only way that they will be able to commence their family. There are many steps in the IVF process so for more information refer to http://www.fssc.com.au/ivf-procedure-step-by-step/.
Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
This treatment method is used when sperm are unable to fertilise the egg without assistance. Some reasons may include couples who have previously had an IVF cycle and none of the eggs fertilise or perhaps sperm have to be collected directly from the testes and are unable to fertilise the egg without help. In these instances a single sperm is injected directly into one egg and around 18 hours later it will be possible to see if fertilisation has occurred. Watch our amazing ICSI video.
Embryo Freezing and Storage
Some IVF cycles result in surplus embryos. In many cases, only one embryo is transferred in an IVF cycle, so if you are fortunate enough to have surplus embryos that are suitable, these can often be frozen (cryopreserved) in liquid nitrogen and stored. Then you can have another attempt at pregnancy should your IVF cycle not be successful. Or, you can use the surplus embryos in a year or so time to extend your family.
Sperm Freezing and Storage
There can be many reasons for freezing and storing sperm; for example before having a vasectomy. Or perhaps the male partner works away from home and will not be home during the fertile time. Another time people decide to freeze sperm is when they are needing to have medical treatment that could impact on their fertility in the future. Freezing sperm means that you have flexibility and freedom to choose when and if you try for a baby.
Egg Freezing and Storage
Some women choose to freeze their eggs before they reach 35 because they are not ready to start a family. For others, egg freezing is an option for women who have to undergo medical treatment that could impact on their fertility in the future. Attempting for a pregnancy using eggs frozen before 35 can then give a greater chance of pregnancy than using your own fresh eggs when you are in your 40s.
Intra Uterine Insemination With Partner or Donor Sperm
Insemination of sperm into the uterus is often one of the first treatment options for couples. For this to be an option, the woman has to be ovulating and have patent tubes. There needs to be sperm (partner or donor) that is suitable for this type of treatment option. The sperm is then inserted into the woman’s womb (uterus) around the time of ovulation.
Ovulation Induction
This is often the first option for couples who present for treatment and it is found that the semen analysis is within normal limits and the fallopian tubes are patent, but there are some issues with egg production. Often, all that is needed are some tablets that can assist the ovaries in producing an egg. The rest can then happen naturally.
Frozen Embryo Transfer
When a couple have completed an IVF cycle, sometimes there are surplus embryos that are suitable for freezing. Using thawed embryos that have been frozen, enables couples to try for future pregnancies without having to go through the whole IVF process. Often all that is needed is to monitor a womans natural cycle, then thaw an embryo and place it in the uterus a few days after ovulation has been detected.
Treatment for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
This condition is thought to be present in 5% to 10% of women of reproductive age (12–45 years old). Characteristically, women with PCOS present with irregular or absent periods, issues with excess body hair, issues with increased weight, and often acne. There are many ways of treating this condition, including diet and exercise, medications, and sometimes operative procedures.
